Enchanting folk music band from the Ukrainian Carpathians opens this year’s CinEast festival as part of our "Focus on Ukraine"! ‘A song fits every moment in a person's life’, says Zoryana Dybovska, who founded Yagody in 2016 with three other students from the theatre faculty in Lviv, western Ukraine. The four travelled through all the oblasts of Ukraine to explore the musical traditions of local people. Amazed by the richness and charm of the vast collection of songs about life, they decided to give some of them new, more modern clothes and… the unique sound of Yagody was born.

Kateryna Mostova is a photographer with 12 years of experience, the author of photo projects, a participant, and winner in worldwide photo contests. She has been involved in and authored exhibitions in Ukraine and around the world. Originally from theEast of Ukraine, she relocated to Kyiv in 2014 due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine and then moved to Luxembourg at the end of February 2023 due to the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine.
The documentary follows the events happening in Ukraine and the truth about Russia's invasion of the country. Directed by Aaron Kaufman and Sean Penn.
