During an August visit to Kyiv Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1, LUkraine Vice-President Inna Yaremenko, Ukraine office head Chenbau Kim and board member Olena Klopota saw medical support put into practice.
A Leon Plus anaesthesia machine, provided with the support of Action LIONS Vaincre le Cancer and Een Häerz fir kriibskrank Kanner asbl, entered service within three days of its arrival. The equipment is being used in the care of children, including newborns. At the time of the visit, 390 children were receiving treatment at the hospital.
August also brought an update on Solar Hope: a newly installed system of solar panels, energy storage, inverters and supporting equipment for the hospital. It is designed to help maintain electricity for medical work during outages and reduce reliance on the grid and generators.
Thank you to Paul Wagner & Fils S.A. for donating solar panels, to Fondation Enovos, under the umbrella of Fondation de Luxembourg, for funding, and to Chenbau Kim for his contribution to this work. Together, these contributions address two practical needs: equipment for treatment and electricity to keep hospital services running.
