Mission
At LUkraine, our mission is clear and unwavering - to support the people of Ukraine in their pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity. We strive to deliver essential humanitarian aid to those affected by the ongoing unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression, to amplify the voices of Ukrainians in the international arena, and to promote Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Through our work, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of Ukraine's cultural heritage and advocate for the values of freedom, democracy, and human rights.
Vision
We envision a future where Ukraine thrives as a vibrant, independent, and democratic nation, respected and supported by the global community. In this future, the scars of unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression are healed, and the Ukrainian people are empowered to build a peaceful and prosperous society. LUkraine seeks to be at the forefront of these efforts, bridging the gap between Luxembourg and Ukraine, and serving as a beacon of hope, solidarity, and compassion in the face of adversity.
Leadership

Inna Yaremenko
With extensive experience in human rights projects and communications, Inna has been a board member of LUkraine since 2017. She oversees the areas of public and cultural advocacy, and is actively engaged in diplomatic activities, strengthening Ukraine's integration into the EU. Since 2024 Inna is the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

Anna Dolya
Anna has been a member of Ukrainian and French nonprofits focused on medical and humanitarian aid for Ukraine since 2014. Her experience in project management and strong knowledge of Luxembourg's education system allows her to drive and support LUkraine's educational initiatives like “Language courses” project.

Philippe Jacob
Philippe Jacob, a highly respected Luxembourger volunteer, has been tirelessly supporting Ukraine since the very first days of the war. Renowned for his courage and dedication, he has participated in numerous missions to evacuate civilians from dangerous hotspots in eastern Ukraine. Philippe’s unwavering commitment and selfless efforts make him a vital part of the humanitarian response, earning him deep respect and gratitude from the Ukrainian community.
Executive team

Olga Zanko
With extensive experience in building IT businesses and optimizing operations, Olga brings strategic thinking and structure to LUkraine’s Erasmus+ initiatives. She connects partners, streamlines processes, and ensures that every stage of the project aligns with the highest standards. Holding an Executive MBA and certification in change management, Olga is committed to creating impact through transparency, education, and international cooperation.

Volodymyr Yukhymenko
Volodymyr brings over 20 years of experience in digital marketing and strategic communication to LUkraine. With a foundation in sectors like fashion, IT, and digital innovation, he has held senior roles where he excelled in brand strategy, digital product development, and AI-driven marketing. His entrepreneurial mindset and data-driven approach make him a key asset to LUkraine, driving impactful campaigns and advanced technologies to support its mission.

Yuliia Sibio
With a strong background in strategy and digital growth, Yuliia drives results across LUkraine’s key initiatives. From concept to execution, she leads with energy, clarity, and a get-things-done mindset. Focused on impact, she brings teams together and turns ideas into action. Yuliia is all about making things happen — effectively and with heart.

Iryna Rudnik
With a strong background in administration, event coordination, and client service, Iryna plays a key role in supporting LUkraine’s daily operations. She manages schedules, handles logistics, and ensures the smooth flow of internal processes with precision and care. Known for her adaptability and team spirit, Iryna helps the organization stay organized, efficient, and people-focused.

Mariya Kolesnyk
Mariya has significant experience in financial and investment management, agricultural markets analysis, including development of market forecasts and writing articles. Since joining LUkraine in 2018, she, as a Board member, was involved in different humanitarian and cultural projects aimed at development of the Ukrainian community in Luxembourg and providing support to Ukraine. Currently, Mariya’s focus is financial management and transparency of LUkraine and activity of the Media team.

Viktoriia Gumetska
Viktoriia brings structure and creativity to LUkraine’s online presence. She supports the team by creating engaging content, preparing visuals, and assisting in communication strategy. Passionate about youth involvement and meaningful storytelling, she helps strengthen the voice of LUkraine across platforms.

Olena Berkovitch
Olena has a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management for non-profit organizations and social institutions, and I specialize in non-formal education. Olena firmly believes that happy children grow into responsible and self-sufficient adults. The future of Ukraine and Europe depends on raising happy children!

Dmytro Stoliar
Dmytro is a volunteer graphic designer with a background in infographics design, logo development, and brand book creation. Joined the LUkraine to support in all design and visualization needs, helping to build strong communication with Luxembourg community and spread rich Ukrainian culture, helping the voice of Ukraine to be heard. Dmytro believes that everyone has to make any small contribution possible into the common goal.

Khrystyna Goncharyk
Khrystyna combines her skills in psychology and project management to lead the Mental Health Counseling Project, providing direct support to Ukrainian refugees and coordinating all counseling sessions and workshops. Her expertise ensures compassionate, effective mental health care for the community in Luxembourg.

Eugene Smoliak
With a background in fundraising, business development, and marketing, Ievgenii brings a solution-oriented mindset to LUkraine’s logistics operations. He supports the coordination and delivery of humanitarian aid, ensuring that resources reach those who need them most. Driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact, he combines strategic thinking with hands-on involvement to contribute to LUkraine’s mission on the ground.

Chenbau Kim
The coordinator oversees the fund’s operations, building strong partnerships with international stakeholders and securing collaboration on key initiatives. They also serve as the primary liaison with local authorities, ensuring compliance, aligning activities with regional priorities, and facilitating smooth program implementation. This role requires strategic planning and effective communication to drive impactful and sustainable initiatives.
Our Story & History
The story of LUkraine is one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to a cause greater than ourselves. Founded in 2014, in the wake of Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the subsequent invasion into Eastern Ukraine, our organization was born out of deep concern for the people of Ukraine and global peace. What started as a grassroots movement among Ukrainian expatriates in Luxembourg has grown into a dynamic multi-faceted organization making a global impact.
Throughout the decade, we learnt that together we are stronger. Building a community that prioritizes preservation of Ukrainian identity and benefits from cultural exchange became the foundation for our work today.
In response to the crisis in Ukraine, a small group of Ukrainian and Luxembourgish citizens come together to form LUkraine. Their initial focus is on raising awareness and providing humanitarian relief to those affected by the unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression.
LUkraine organizes its first major fundraising campaign to support medical and emergency relief efforts in Ukraine.
Expansion continues to include educational programs aimed at supporting Ukrainian children and youth affected by the unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression.
Receiving a grant for the “I am the Future of Ukraine” – “City of Good” project, which supports mothers and children in need and creates inclusive children’s playgrounds in Chernivtsi.
LUkraine launches its Public Diplomacy initiative, advocating for stronger international support for Ukraine.
The first convoy within the framework of “Ukraine Is Calling” campaign delivers ambulances and fire trucks needed by Ukrainian emergency services
The organisation plays a pivotal role in coordinating humanitarian aid shipments following the escalation of the unprovoked and unjustified Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Launch of “Water to Every Home” project that created water wells to alleviate potable water shortages in areas affected by the Kakhovka Dam disaster.
LUkraine continues to grow, responding to new challenges and opportunities with a steadfast commitment to Ukraine and its people.
