SUMMARY:Uncounted 1932.2022. Food as a weapon of genocide
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to visit the worst restaurant in the world.\nThe dishes of the “restaurant” are the foods that Ukrainians used to prevent themselves from dying in 1932-33 during the artificial famine created by the government of the Soviet Union.\nIn history\, these events were called “Holodomor” – when food became a weapon for genocide\, since it was taken from Ukrainians to the last crumb with a choice of being shot for any resistance. Therefore\, people had to eat tree bark\, grass\, straw\, etc.\nBy starving\, the Soviet authorities deliberately exterminated millions of Ukrainians. On November 26\, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Holodomor.\nThe genocide perpetrated by the Soviet regime continues to be perpetrated by its successor\, modern Russia. Russian soldiers shoot\, torture\, rape and starve civilians in blockaded cities. We still do not know the exact number of the Holodomor victims and how many people died in the blockaded cities nowadays. The victims of the war\, as well as the Holodomor\, remain UNCOUNTED.\nResidents of the city can try the food that people ate during the Holodomor to survive. Now millions of Ukrainians are trying to survive in Ukrainian cities under shelling and rocket attacks.\nFood has again become a weapon with which Russia is now blackmailing the whole world\, trying to block ports or trying to get out of the grain agreements.\n⏰When: November 26\, 14:00 – 16:00\n????Where: Place de Clairefontaine\, Luxembourg\nNo one was punished for the crimes of the Holodomor\, so history repeats itself. The world must prevent genocide now\, because unpunished evil is coming back.

SUMMARY:Independence Day of Ukraine Concert in LUXEMBOURG
DESCRIPTION:Independence Day 2022 – what is it about this year? A year when Ukrainian cities are being bombed daily? A year when thousands of Ukrainian families learnt what “forced immigration” means… When people\, attempting to build a new life here\, are losing friends\, relatives\, homes there? … When many suffer of guilt and uncertainty… When dreaming sounds scary\, but a sense of responsibility has increased dramatically? … When we daily wake up with the only question – what shall Ukraine expect today? And what I can do for my country? On the Independence Day of 2022 – what kind of people we are? Broken but alive. Today we feel each other’s pain sharply. Thus\, we invite you to join us for the Independence Day without loud celebrations. We want to ensure you feel safe and homey. You will be able to select activities which suit you and your kids most. We promise this day will be filled with warmth and love. Please follow the event. We will share details next week.

SUMMARY:Photo exhibition "Survive the War"
DESCRIPTION:On August 23rd\, one day ahead of the Independance Day\, LUkraine absl\, the Association of Ukrainians in Luxembourg\, is opening a photo exhibition in their office (kindly provided by KPMG).We invite people of Luxembourg to join us in discovering Ukraine through the eyes and lenses of two Ukrainian photographers.\nKonsyantyn Sova and Serhiy Morugin have come together to share what they have seen in two areas of Ukraine – Kyiv\, the capital and it’s suburbs (such as Bucha)\, and Kharkiv region in the East of Ukraine. Uniting the two cities is the personality of Astamur Humba\, who’s memorial Peace Fund is co-organizing the event. Step-son to one of the photographers\, Astamur was born in Abkhazia and as a child had to flee to Ukraine\, when Russia orchestrated a war in Georgia. Although not a citizen of Ukraine or someone who’s ever had to hold a gun in his hands\, this young professional with successful career in IT had decided he wouldn’t flee again. Instead\, he joined Kyiv Territorial Defense – a volunteer branch of Ukrainian army\, quickly organized after the full-scale invasion started. Astamur went on to serve in the Ukrainian army and was sent to fight for Kharkiv – second biggest city of Ukraine\, that is suffering from attacks every day and night since the morning of February 24th 2022. Astamur died a month ago.
